Your Carroll Drumline
The award-winning Carroll Dragon Drumline, from Southlake, Texas, is highly visible in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Under the direction of Ken Johnson and Fred Boyce, the 50+ member group has performed annually at marching contests, drumline contests, community events, as well as various school athletic venues, including five 5A State Championship football games in the past six years. Recent accolades include – “Best Cymbal Line” at the 2004 Lone Star Drumline competition, and “Best in Class” at the 2004 DeSoto Marching Contest and 2006 H-E-B Drumline Invitational.
The drumline has enjoyed performing at multiple "Grand Openings", parades, and professional games, including the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Burn. Through the years, it has also appeared on ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Sports, and local networks.
The talented members of the Carroll Drumline pride themselves in being well-rounded percussionists by honing their drumline skills in the fall and focusing on concert percussion and solo and ensemble events in the spring. The Dragons have a streak of seven consecutive years that a percussionist has been named "Outstanding Soloist" at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble competition in Austin, Texas.
